ABOUT ULTRA TRUCK WASH
With three decades in the transport industry, we bring extensive experience both as truck owners and drivers, as well as operators of truck washes. Our journey began with a mobile truck wash unit that serviced our own fleet of 40 trailers and 16 trucks. As demand grew, we expanded to a commercial mobile truck wash service under the name “On Site Fleet Wash.” However, we soon recognized the need for a permanent truck wash site to better meet our needs.
Determined to find the best truck wash system for Australian conditions, we travelled extensively, exploring various solutions worldwide. Despite our efforts, no single system was suitable for Australian conditions. So, we developed our own Hybrid system – a unique system tailored to Australian needs. The challenge then was finding a suitable location.
Fifteen years ago, we seized the opportunity to purchase “Truck Wash”, a rundown truck wash facility in Wingfield. The equipment was outdated and inefficient, but with our expertise and vision, we revitalised it. We renamed it “Peppers Truck Wash”, installed our Hybrid truck washing system, and that very system is still in use today.
Our quest for a Melbourne location led us to another opportunity. We acquired a failing truck wash in Laverton, which had an automatic truck wash system that wasn’t effective in Australia. We removed the existing equipment, discarded the harsh chemicals, and replaced everything with our Hybrid system and custom-made soap. This transformed the business into “Laverton Truck Wash.”
Five years ago, we faced a similar situation with “Ultra Truck Wash” in Derrimut. The facility had an automatic truck wash machine that didn’t suit our Hybrid system. After modifying the existing equipment, it is now working as we would like, unfortunately it is not suitable for road trains or body and dog units and there is a 4.3m height restriction. Our Adelaide and Laverton sites are both 4.6m.
Today, we still operate six B’Double units subcontracting to Mainfreight Transport and Chemcouriers, and we have washed over half a million trucks. About six years ago, we identified a gap in the market for a complete range of interior and exterior cleaning and detailing products specifically for trucks.
